The Ritual Life at Beth Israel is a fully Egalitarian/Conservative house of worship and gathering place for life cycle events of 136 families. Beth Israel celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2010. We were a Modern Orthodox synagogue until the membership voted to make the move to the Conservative movement in 2012, opening the doors of Beth Israel to a more diverse and inclusive participatory service, fully integrating women into all aspects of Ritual life.
Many traditional experiences await your interest and participation... regular Friday Oneg Shabbat, Saturday morning and High Holiday services as well as Bar and Bat Mitzvah arrangements, adult education classes and tutorials, an after-school Talmud Torah and Hebrew High for teenagers. Beth Israel has a Mikvah that supports the entire Greater Kingston area as well as a cemetery in close proximity to Kingston. Beth Israel has a kosher kitchen in which to hold a simcha, meeting or event, as the need might arise. Please contact Beth Israel for the full schedule of services as well as any other religious requirement.
Rabbi Karen Soria fills the role as Beth Israel's Spiritual Leader and brings consummate dedication...adding in her extensive rabbinical background with compassion and warmth.
